Apostille:India, since 2005, is a member of the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961 that abolished the requirement of legalization of foreign public documents. Apostille is done for personal documents like birth/death/marriage certificates, Affidavits, Power of Attorney, etc. and educational documents like degree, diploma, matriculation and secondary level certificates etc. Any document Apostilled by one member country is acceptable in all the other member-countries who are signatory to the Conventioin.

While no fee is levied by the Ministry of External Affairs for general Attestation, there is a fee of Rs.50/- (Rupees Fifty only) per document for Apostille. The fee for Apostille is to be paid through Indian Postal Orders payable to “ Pay & Accounts Officer, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi” . Service charges payable to SEPL are same for Attestation and Apostille of documents.

All Personal Documents need to be authenticated by Home Department/General Administration Department(GAD) and all Educational Documents are to be authenticated by Department of Education/Human Resource Department (HRD) of the concerned State Government/Union Territory. These authenticated documents are to be submitted to the authorized Outsourcing Companies of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, for Apostille Stamp by MEA. Apostille Stamp is placed on the reverse side of the original document. A list of the Regional Authentication Centers and the designated authorities may be seen at the Ministry’s website . We provide degree certificate apostille in ahmedabad, birth certificate apostille in ahmedabad and marriage certificate apostille in ahmedabad for all Indian issued documents only.

All Indian originated commercial documents are required to be pre-authenticated by the respective Chamber of Commerce before they can be processed further for the Ministry of External Affairs attestation. The rubber stamp of the respective Chamber of Commerce must be affixed on each document along with the name & designation of the authorized signatory.

The applicants have to submit following documents :

  • (a) original documents
  • (b) photocopy of documents
  • (c) photocopy of passport
  • (d) applicable fee and service charges

Commercial Documents are to be pre-authenticated by the respective Chambers of Commerce before these are Apostille by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. The seal of the respective Chamber of Commerce must be affixed on each document along with signatures, name, designation & seal of authorized signatory.
